Job Title: Threat Detection Engineer
Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Threat Detection Engineer to join our organization. This role is integral to the security posture of the company, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of tailored security detection rules that meet the unique needs of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement security detection rules that are customized to our client’s specific requirements.
- Leverage a variety of cybersecurity tools, systems, and solutions to enhance and fortify the security measures in place.
- Apply your extensive security expertise across a range of areas, including but not limited to application security, network security, endpoint security, server/virtualization security, data security, and cloud security.
- Write and develop analytical rules using Kusto Query Language (KQL) for Microsoft Sentinel and SQL for Splunk.
- Solve complex and challenging problems using a detail-oriented approach, ensuring that all aspects of the issue are thoroughly examined and addressed.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with both team members and clients, ensuring that all parties are kept informed and updated.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrable proficiency in threat detection engineering and the development of analytic rules.
- Prior experience with Splunk Query Language and Kusto Query Language (KQL) is essential.
- Familiarity with a range of cybersecurity tools and systems, including Azure Sentinel, SailPoint, CyberArk, and Penetration Testing tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest possible standard.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to a range of audiences.
