Job Title: Payroll Administrator

Location: Waltham, MA (Onsite)

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Administrator to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of the payroll department and requires a candidate with a strong background in payroll administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing biweekly multi-state payroll operations for approximately 2,600 employees across the United States and Canada, utilizing the Dayforce system.
  • The role requires the provision of exceptional customer service to all employees, addressing and resolving any payroll-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • The Payroll Administrator will be expected to handle employee inquiries regarding the timekeeping system, Dayforce, ensuring all employees are comfortable with its use.
  • The role involves auditing and maintaining employee records within Dayforce, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for ensuring data integrity by auditing files from Dayforce or other sources, identifying and rectifying any discrepancies.
  • The role requires the processing of levies, garnishments, and one-time payments as required by law, ensuring all legal obligations are met.
  • The Payroll Administrator will be expected to respond to inquiries from internal and external auditors, providing all necessary information and documentation.
  • The role involves collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with tax and labor regulations, ensuring all payroll activities are compliant.
  • The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for preparing manual checks and ACH payments when necessary, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • The role requires coordination with the HR department for terminations and final payments as per state regulations, ensuring all legal obligations are met.
  • The Payroll Administrator will be expected to administer and monitor severance payments according to the signed contract, ensuring all obligations are met.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of related payroll experience, with multi-state payroll processing experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Ceridian/Dayforce is preferred, and CPP certification is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proven team skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand our client’s business model.
  • Strong bias for action with a results-orientation, and ability to work in a fast-paced result-driven environment.
  • Unquestionable business ethics and integrity.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is desirable.
