Job Title: Senior System Support Administrator

Location: Flexible (Onsite, Partial Onsite, or Fully Remote)

Work Hours: Night Shift (10 PM – 7 AM), Some Weekend Work Required

Join our dedicated and highly technical Systems Support team, responsible for supporting several government contracts. We offer a challenging and dynamic work environment where you can troubleshoot complex system issues and collaborate closely with our Customer Operations teams.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior System Support Administrator to monitor and troubleshoot our client's applications and production systems. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to quickly learn new monitoring tools, and experience working in a fast-paced, multi-platform environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor system performance and identify potential issues affecting applications and batch jobs.
• Provide application support, including job execution and troubleshooting.
• Investigate and resolve system failures, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Analyze batch cycle performance and address execution failures.
• Verify that Production and Test environments are functioning properly.
• Identify areas for automation and process improvement in system operations.
 

Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field OR 4 years of job-related IT experience OR 2 years of job-related experience plus an Associate’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in system support (batch job monitoring, JCL, and CICS troubleshooting).
• Proficiency in DB2 and IMS database support.
• Familiarity with system performance tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong understanding of production system maintenance, structured programming techniques, and quality assurance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
 

Preferred Skills:

• Scripting: VBA or PowerShell.
• Experience with Endevor, Freeze Frame, MQ, and Splunk.
• Basic server maintenance and distributed system knowledge.
