Job Title: Senior Cobol Developer
Work Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Cobol Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, coding, and maintaining applications in a collaborative environment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL (batch and online), JCL
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers and business resources to execute tests
- Adhere to Change Management guidelines during the deployment of solutions
- Actively participate in Agile Ceremonies
- Be available for Bi-Monthly 24/7 On Call Support Rotation
- Maintain a customer-centric approach and risk awareness, promptly raising any concerns
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Extensive experience in mainframe development with COBOL (batch and online), JCL
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Comprehensive knowledge of the full software development lifecycle
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed
- Familiarity with computer development software, such as SQL, Java, J2EE, etc.Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Mainframe Sas/report writing is preferred
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- High School Degree and Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
