Job Title: Software Engineer 3
Job Responsibilities:
- Administer a large, complex GitHub environment for our client’s engineering teams.
- Design and build automation to enhance the developer experience, implement security controls, and develop self-service tooling.
- Utilize GitHub’s API for task automation and integration with other systems.
- Develop and enforce best practices for securing code and maintaining privacy in our client’s repositories.
- Provide training and support to engineers, and create clear documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the day-to-day management of the organization’s GitHub environment.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of professional experience as a software programmer.
- 2+ years of professional experience as a senior member of a software team.
- Proficiency in Python and at least one other high-level programming language like Java, Node, Golang, or Groovy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong background with Git, version control, repositories, branching, pull requests, and merging.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of computer security and privacy, user identity, permissions, and SSO.
- Experience using and building GraphQL and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with software testing frameworks and test automation.
- Experience with Docker and containerization.
- Experience with AWS cloud computing, including EC2, S3, load balancers, Lambdas, and IAM security.
